Our job is to ensure the industry's voice is heard where it matters, communicating on our members' behalf with legislators, regulators and other opinion formers.

We represent our members' views at the highest levels within the Scottish Government, Scottish Parliament and Food Standards Scotland. FDF Scotland also works in partnership with related bodies such as Scotland Food & Drink, the Scottish Retail Consortium, Scottish Enterprise, CBI Scotland as well as the agricultural sector, and academic and research institutes to help contribute to the growth of the sector. We ensure our members have a direct input to the development of industry policy and can have their say on the wide range of issues affecting the industry in Scotland via our Executive Committee, which is made up of senior industry representatives, and our Members' Forum.

A key focus of our work is increasing the competitiveness of the industry in Scotland by improving the legal and socio-economic environment in which our members operate.

We also ensure our members' views and concerns are understood in the debates around sustainability and health and wellbeing.

In addition, FDF Scotland works closely with others in the food chain to ensure food safety and consumer confidence.

FDF is a division of the Food and Drink Federation (FDF). FDF Scotland keeps FDF members informed about legislative and other developments in Scotland which may affect their business interests. FDF Scotland also ensures that the industry in Scotland has a direct input, via FDF, to the development of industry policy in the UK and EU contexts.
