2014: Food & Drink Legacy

2014 was a big year for Scotland. We welcomed a spectacular year of sport and entertainment, with the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games in July, the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles in September and the second edition of Homecoming.

A strong marketing, communications and media plan was implemented to highlight the role of food and drink across the major 2014 events and boosted awareness of Scotland's natural larder and the producers behind it.

At the core of our industry is the desire to boost the reputation of the country as a place that excels in producing superb food and drink and 2014 helped this effort. Our superb food and drink producers were showcased to great effect, achieving fantastic profile throughout the year. More importantly still, producers profited from supply opportunities further growing the value of the £14bn industry.

Read our case studies below to discover how companies participated, benefiting from greater profile and a boost to business through supply opportunities.
