Taste of Angus Restaurant & Hotel Learning Journey

This is a chance to learn about the produce available in Angus and why the area’s food and drink is so special.

Let us take you on a tour of the area and meet some of our producers who will demonstrate why having local food on your menu can be a real benefit to your business. A great opportunity to network and make new contacts.

Who should attend: anyone from a restaurant, hotel, café or events venue in Dundee and Angus who is a decision maker as to the menu and where produce is sourced.

Itinerary

10am Sacred Grounds Coffee Company, Arbroath

Sacred Grounds is the area’s first and only coffee roasting company. They source premium green beans from ethical and sustainable sources throughout the world, and are building a reputation for quality, excellence and attention to detail.

11am Parkhill Rare Breeds

Parkhill is a 25 acre smallholding near Arbroath. Owners Martin and Jackie keep pigs, cattle, poultry, sheep and two pet goats. They currently produce and sell pork products as well as free range eggs. They are proud supporters of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust.

12 noon – Enjoy a BBQ lunch at Parkhill with very locally sourced produce!

1.30pm      Myreside Farm

Jillian McEwan is the owner of Fresh Food Express, an online retailer of local, artisan foods. Jillian and husband Neil are now breeding cashmere and boer goats, as well as growing asparagus and honeyberries. Jillian is also Chair of the Food Life group, and is an expert on local food.

3pm   Redcastle Brewery

Redcastle Brewery is based at Carmyllie, a few miles out of Arbroath. Owner John is a champion breeder of Clydesdale horses and he has now diversified into making beer and is now moving into the gin market.

4pm  Return to Arbroath

Transport will be provided from the first location in Arbroath (parking is available).
