Nathalie Newman, who also runs The Intolerant Gourmand blog, is an experienced consultant in the area of free-from eating and allergies.  Newman will be on hand to assist Victus Consultancy clients who wish to develop or improve their skills in this growing area.  She is also a fully qualified nutritional therapist, food writer and presenter and has recently been confirmed as a finalist in the Allergy Blog Awards UK.

Victus Consultancy is run by Andrew Scott, who founded the company after a long career in the international hospitality industry.  Scott also runs a number of successful catering businesses, which gives Victus an unusually hands-on approach, valued by their clients.

Andrew Scott said:

“I’m delighted to bring Nathalie on board at Victus.  There has been a real growth in demand for catering that meets the requirements of those with allergies.  Since 2014, hospitality businesses have been obliged by law to show the allergens they’re using in their menus but I know that compliance isn’t always easy.  Nathalie will be a really useful asset for the wide range of hospitality businesses we work with.  At Victus, we pride ourselves on our direct approach and I know that she will join us in jumping right into the thick of things with the businesses we work with!”

Since 2014, under the Food Information for Consumers Regulation, all out-of-home dining businesses are required to identify, keep records and communicate to customers which items/dishes contain any of 14 specified allergenic ingredients.

Nathalie Newman said:

“At The Intolerant Gourmand, I’ve developed a recognisable brand that demonstrates my expertise and personal experience in the area of allergies and free-from eating.  I’m delighted to be able to bring this to Victus Consultancy and to work with its wide-ranging clients to bring safe, transparent and delicious dishes to the fore.”

Victus has worked extensively to support and develop hospitality businesses in the UK through Victus, including work with organisations like Drake & Morgan, Cameron House Hotel and City of Glasgow College.

Previously recognised at the Scottish Hospitality Awards for his Outstanding Contribution to Scottish Hospitality and named as Hospitality Industry Trust Scotland’s Entrepreneurial Caterer of the Year, Andrew Scott was recently revealed as a finalist in the Scottish Thistle Awards in the Tourism and Hospitality Hero category.
